We all love the Hamptons style way of life - relaxed, coastal living, accentuated with soft blues, bright florals and natural textures... in fact it suits our Australian lifestyle better than any other.
What many of us don't realise is that the Hamptons "look" is actually quite a simple and affordable one to achieve in your home - embracing the "bringing the outdoors, indoors" ethos and mixing your older accents in with the coastal elements works really well, meaning you don't have to buy everything from new.Ā
We asked our Interior Design team to give us their top advice on what to focus on to get the look without burning a hole in the wallet.Ā
1. Focus on the main area of the house first - in most cases, the living room. We recommend investing in a good quality sofa & coffee table. Rugs donāt cost a lot and youād be surprised at the range available that create a real wow factor in your home.

2. Do get yourself some really great cushions though with feather inserts that ties your seaside Hamptons look together. Cushions are a great way to add colour and style to a space without blowing the budget... and as the seasons change they can be simply swapped in and out as needed. Perfect!Ā

3. As far as styling pieces go,Ā draw your inspiration from the film,Ā āSomethings Gotta Giveā ā the beach houseĀ in this movie featuredĀ decorator items like a bowl filled with stones picked up off the beach and flowers from the garden. It also had coral and shells from the beach. Itās about bringing the outdoors in & that doesnāt cost money. Be creative and have fun!
